How to Clean Leather Sofas no comments
Though leather is a pricier material to use for sofas, people still opt to buy it as it is stronger than most materials. It proves to be worth the price because it provides utmost comfort. It is perfect for modish living room styles and gives an elegant and sophisticated touch in the room. However, like any other furniture material, improper caring and maintenance will cause your leather sofa to wear out.
Factors such as heat can cause the material to weaken and look old. The accumulation of dust and dirt can also make it more vulnerable to breakage and deterioration. Water and other fluids may seep into it and cause its insides to rot. To save it from deterioration, know how to effectively clean your leather sofa.
1. To maintain the good appearance and quality of your leather sofa make it appoint to have a regular schedule of cleaning the furniture. This will make the chore easier since the dirt will not pile up. Use the vacuum to clean the tight areas such as the corners to remove hairs and crumbs. Use soft bristles of the brush attachment so as not to destroy the material.
2. A solution of dishwashing liquid (1 to 2 drops) and water is effective in removing stains and spills. Put the solution in a spray bottle and mist the stained area then gently dab off with a rug. Start off from the outer area of the spill slowly making your way in. Be extra cautious not to spread the spill further. Use only the recommended amount of the solution so you would not have bubbles on the sofa. Excessive liquids may only moisten the sofa and leave it damp and prone to growth of mildew.
3. Choose the chemicals of your cleaning solution wisely. Make sure that it is not too harsh for your sofa. Test the solution on a small part first. Some harmful chemicals may cause the protective layer of the furniture to wear out thus leaving it exposed to dirt and bacteria. It may also tarnish the color of the material.
4. For oil spills, use a dry rug with powder to absorb the spill. Repeat until all the oil has been removed.
5. If you happen to spill ink on your sofa, use hair spray on it. Use just a few amount then immediately and carefully pat with a dry rug.
6. Mix alcohol and water and spray it on the sofa for mildew problems. Dab a dry cloth on the sprayed area to remove the mildew.
7. In addition to having the proper cleaning materials and solutions, you also need a conditioner for the leather material. This does not need to be applied frequently, every 2 years will do. This will ensure that the polish and outer protective coating of the leather is maintained.
Your leather sofa is a great investment but if you do not take care of it properly your money will go to waste. Proper maintenance and regular cleaning is always the key to keeping your furniture looking good as new.

Don’t Forget to Buy a Tool to Capture the Highest Fruit no comments
The other day I was talking to one of my neighbors about a couple of fruit trees on the property line, actually on his side but hanging over this way and I said; “Aren’t you going to get those fruit way up there?” He told me; “oh heavens no, I can’t reach that high and at my age I don’t want to get on the ladder, I might fall off and break something.” I had considered what he said and thought; that his excuses were lacking any sort of logic or reason because you don’t necessarily have to get on a ladder, or go climb a tree to get the high fruit.
When I explained this to him, he just laughed at me and said; “hey, if you want to climb up there or find a way to get that fruit, be my guest.” I thought it was really silly because I often see fruit laying around the trees which is rotting on the ground and it just seems like a big waste to me, and I really don’t want those little flies out and around getting and all that rotting fruit. So, I went down the local Home Hardware Depot and bought one of those long poles with a little attachment on the end to pick fruit.
Indeed, I was in luck because they were on sale. The other day I went out and filled up a whole basket, about the size of a 5-gallon pail with fruit, and it was a lot better than the fruit he was getting at the lower levels on the tree, or anything you could buy in the store. The fruit was bigger and riper. I could have easily filled up six or eight 5-gallon pails full of fruit, but I had no need for that much. My neighbor is busy grabbing all the low hanging fruit, and he has plenty already.
For the mere price of $35, I now have all the fruit I could ever want to supplement my already healthy diet. It is amazing how lazy we are living in such an advanced society, that we don’t bother to think of a way to get at all that is available to us. I very much doubt if our ancestors would have accepted the concept of not bothering to get all the fruit that was available. If you own fruit trees in your backyard, you need to go out and get a fruit picking pole with a special attachment. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.

Termite and Pest Control no comments
Did you know that termites statistically affect every two out of three homes? That is a huge percentage for such a manageable problem. Termite and pest control services can help lower statistics and keep your home safe from damage.
Termites are capable of destroying a home’s foundation. They live in swarming colonies that feed on and recycle things like wood and plastic. Although they play an important role in the eco system, they are definitely not wanted in or around your property. If they are left alone they can completely deteriorate the foundation of a building. In a case when you do have a building that is infested, you can control the problem by having the building sprayed with termiticides.
What do I mean by “pests?” Spiders, ants, and roaches are all examples of pests that may be in your building. One of the smartest ways to get rid of and avoid problems with pests is to have your house treated. There is a spectacular yearly treatment that can be done to prevent the invitation of pests. The treatment just takes a few hours and can be completed without having to evacuate the home. It proves to be an efficient solution because it attacks where the bugs are living and breeding. Bug companies often recommend the yearly service because they are confident in the results – going so far as to offer free re-treatments should any problems occur.
What causes problems with insects in the first place? A huge cause of insect invasion is actually the result of an even bigger problem – moisture. Many insects live in moist areas, not to mention moisture can cause mold problems. Mold and termites paired together is literally a building’s worst enemy. They have the power to completely deteriorate foundations and structures and make them an unsafe place to live. Another preventative technique that can be done to any home or business is moisture control. The same people that spray your home for termites can protect your home from moisture. Some buildings may need to install vapor barriers or vents that are temperature controlled.
Although newer buildings are often built with physical termite barriers, any building is susceptible for termites and pests. In order to avoid putting your foundation in jeopardy, consider getting your house treated once a year. Taking preventative steps to protecting your home is the only way to guarantee you are safe from bug problems.
The Hitachi CG22EASSLP Grass Trimmer Full Review no comments
Since I’ve been working in the lawn and landscape field for over ten years, I always enjoy trying out new lawn equipment. I like to find out what the best selling products are to see for myself what makes them so popular. So when I had a chance to try out the Hitachi CG22EASSLP grass trimmer, I was excited to see how this gas powered unit would hold up.
Before trying it out on a lawn, I got online to see what others had to say about the trimmer. The reviews were almost unanimous across the board that this was a quality weed eater with plenty of power. The only small complaint that I could find is that the on/off switch is located in a bad spot. It was causing some people to inadvertently hit it and accidentally turn it off. Only a few people mentioned this, all of the other reviews were positive.
I have always used gas weed eaters from quality brands like Stihl and Shindaiwa. These trimmers were almost always easy to start, powerful, and durable. I wanted to see how the Hitachi CG22EASSLP would hold up compared to the string trimmers I was accustomed to using. Even though the Hitachi cost around $100 less, I still had pretty high expectations after all of the glowing reviews I had read.
So, I took the trimmer out with me to use on the lawns that I mow on a weekly basis. The first lawn I used it on, the grass was thick and high. I mow it every week, but it was the spring time and this lawn is very healthy and I have to double cut it every time. Once I got done mowing, I went to get the Hitachi weed eater for the trimming. It was similar in weight to the other Stihl and Shindaiwa. It felt comfortable in my hands and I adjusted the handle to make it conform to my height.
When I went to start it, it started right up. I immediately noticed it was relatively quiet for a weed eater and, fortunately, I didn’t notice much excessive vibration. When going through the trimming and edging, I was impressed with the power of the trimmer. It had no problem cutting through the thick grass. I even took it into some flower bed with some overgrown weed and it easily cut through those. This string trimmer lived up to all of the reviews I had read. Since I did not use it for an extended period of time, I don’t know if it could hold up to the day to day wear and tear, but for the time I used it it did fine.

How to Use a Lawn Rake Or Thatch Rake – One Day, A Much Nicer Lawn! no comments
Select the right time
The manual yard rake may be used sometime during the Spring to get rid of moss, thatch and other undesirable materials in the lawn. More rigorous raking is better done in the springtime or fall when temps are less severe.
Treat moss
For those who have a lot of moss that you are attempting to eliminate, think about using a moss killer in advance. Lifeless moss is simpler to rake away, which means you can get more off it of the yard.
Cut your yard shorter than usual
The yard rake is easier to use and can perform a much better job when the lawn is short. Strive for grass about 1″ high for the best outcomes.
Check dirt dampness
You don’t want the ground to be excessively soaked and saturated, however too dried out isn’t good either. Early in the morning or late in the evening is best since there is usually some dew on the ground.
Dress appropriately
Because the tines on the yard rake are extremely sharp, enclosed footwear is essential. Put on gloves to make it easier to deal with.
Rake small areas
In order to do this properly, it’s important that you make sure the sharp blades of the rake dig into the ground enough to grab hold of the thatch, but not hard that you start to tear up the healthy lawn. It takes a strong, yet delicate, touch to do it right.
The best way to make sure you properly thatch your whole lawn is to section it off, and thoroughly go over each section before you move on to the next area. Doing it this way will give you the best results.
Eliminate and get rid of all thatch and moss
Make sure to collect all of the materials raked up. If you don’t go out and pick up all of the debris you just raked up it will soon become thatch again. Because yard rakes are extra sharp and created for getting rid of thatch, make use of a leaf rake or another kind of rake to collect the undesirable materials.
Treat your yard
Because raking up thatch and moss reveals the roots, this can be an excellent time to feed or apply anything else to your yard. The lawn may advantage much more from them than whenever a heavy coating of thatch will get in the way.
Hopefully these tips will get you started off on the right foot when it comes to thatching your yard this year.
