Simple Ideas To Decorate Your Bedroom   no comments

The master bedroom is often the most neglected room in the house when it comes to decorating. Perhaps the homeowners have run out of money or ideas by the time they get to the bedroom, or maybe they just never got around to it. Dont wait until you have the time to decorate your master bedroom. Here are some quick-and-easy ideas that will help you add style to your dcor.

Decorating Your Walls
You can take your bedroom in an entirely new direction with a simple change in paint color. Not only is painting a simple project to undertake, its also inexpensive and not very time consuming. When painting the master bedroom, youll find you have many different options.

If youre happy with your bedding, find a shade that complements existing colors. Or if youre considering new bedding, you can go with the color scheme of your choice. You might also opt for an easier route and paint an accent wall; a good choice might be the one your bed is against.

Another quick option for the master bedroom is to hang up a painting on one wall. Find the style of painting that best fits the dcor of the room. You could even hang a couple of different smaller paintings in a random pattern. Look for paintings and even photographs that suit your style at your local department store or discount store.

Choosing Your Bedding
The bed is the focal point of any bedroom. If youre not set on a particular dcor, like wooden bedroom furniture, start with the bedding first. Youll be able to find a wide variety of ideas and styles either online or at your local bedding store.

A bedding set doesnt have to cost a lot of money. After all, you can always find something simple to add to your look. Pillows are an easy way to add color or texture to any bed. Try some inexpensive throw pillows to add design and interest to the plainest bedding set. Even better, create a canopy around your bed by hanging tulle or silk from the ceiling to create the ultimate romantic look.

Adding Accessories
Begin by removing any clutter that may be on top of any furniture in the room such as dressers or nightstands. Its always much easier to decorate a room when youre not dealing with a mess. You can put away any items you still want in drawers and then get rid of other items you no longer need.

Once youve cleared away the clutter, you can use these pieces of furniture to add accessories to the room. A unique lamp might look perfect on that nightstand. Consider candles or a vase of flowers to add style to your dresser.

Decorating a master bedroom can be a surprisingly simple process. By adding simple design touches here and there, you can create a space that is entirely your own

Spruce up Your Dull Bedroom   no comments

Posted at 7:42 pm in Bedroom,Interior Decorating

Since nobody else really sees the bedroom, it’s not uncommon for people to leave it for last when it comes to decorating. So what do you do with a dull and boring bedroom that you don’t have a lot of time or money for decorating? Luckily, there are plenty of simple ways to spruce up that dull bedroom that will cost you little in terms of time and money.

Paint the Walls
If you’re looking to spruce up a dull bedroom, the easiest thing to do by far is to paint the walls. Painting the walls is one of the quickest ways to add both color and style to a room. Don’t just look for a color you like, but find one that will add interest to the room. In order to ensure the décor is cohesive, choose a paint color that accents or matches the accessories you plan on having in the room.

Add an Interesting or Colorful Bed Set
The bed usually serves as a focal point for the bedroom, as it is typically the largest item in the room. Thus, a great way to add interest to the bedroom is by adding color to your oak bed. You want a bed set that’s interestingly patterned or colorful but also coordinates with the other items in the room. Then you can toss in a few decorative pillows for added interest. If you’d prefer to stay away from a patterned bed set, then get a set that’s a single color and add accent pillows in a contrasting color to add interest to the area.

Hang Photographs on the Walls
Bare walls only contribute to a dull and boring bedroom. If your walls are empty, then you can add some style and pizzazz to things by hanging up some items on the wall. A simple and easy way to fill in this space is by framing and hanging photographs of you and your family. You can also hang old-time black-and-white photographs, or even photos of nature scenes, such as ocean shots or flowers.

Perhaps photographs just aren’t your thing or you’re looking for something a little different. Then consider hanging a large piece of artwork that’s caught your eye. For those of you who are creative, you might even make the artwork yourself. A design approach that can be very inspiring is to base your entire bedroom scheme off that one piece of art.

Add a New Piece of Furniture
If there’s space in the bedroom, you might consider adding a new furnishing, which will make it more interesting. You can also replace any old or out-of-style furniture, which will make the room more stylish as well. For instance, you might invest in a wood dresser, chest or bench for the end of the bed, a new dresser, or if you can afford it, even a new bed.

Your bedroom should be a retreat from the world, a place where you can relax and enjoy spending time. Having a dull and boring bedroom is no fun at all, but if you follow some of these simple suggestions, you can quickly create a stylish and interesting retreat where you will love spending time.

Decorating Tips for a Guest Bedroom   no comments

Posted at 8:47 pm in Bedroom,Interior Decorating

You can help your houseguests feel right at home in your house by turning that extra room into a separate guest bedroom. Although guest bedrooms are typically simple, you can still choose to add some of your style into the room. A balance of simplicity and style will make the room appealing to any guests who may stay at your home. If you are unsure on how to go about decorating your guest bedroom, then here are some simple tips you can follow.

Keep the Colors Neutral
Neutral colors are the best choice for a guest bedroom, although it’s okay to add a pop of color in strategic places. By sticking to neutral colors, you can make the room more appealing to guests and also more comfortable for them. With a neutral base, then you can add style and a little bit of color with different décor items such as paintings, flowers, and pillows. You can have a stylish guest bedroom, but keep it on the neutral side so that your guests aren’t waking in the middle of the night frightened and stimulated by the bright red walls.

Provide a Comfortable Sleeping Area
Some people choose to furnish the guest bedroom with their old furniture and an oak bed. Do be sure that the bed is still safe and stable, though. However, you might want to buy a new mattress. It is courteous to provide a comfortable sleeping area instead of your 20-year-old mattress. You can also easily stain or paint your old bed another color to match the décor of the room. If you find that the bed just isn’t working, then there are many inexpensive and simple beds available that would work great in a guest bedroom without breaking your budget.

Don’t buy the cheapest set of sheets you can find for the guest bedroom. Rather, try to find something in the middle, so that it will be comfortable but will still fit into your budget. A basic cotton sheet set, along with a comforter or a blanket, should suffice. You can even add some style and color to the room via the bedding set, as long as it’s relatively subtle.

Provide Storage Space
You want to provide any guests who stay in your guest bedroom with some storage and closet space. If you typically store your own items in the bedroom’s closet, you might want to think about storing them elsewhere to give your guests the space. Of course, this all depends on who the guest is and how long he or she might be staying. If your guest is a family member who’s only planning on staying a day or two, for example, then it probably won’t matter. But if your guest is from out of town and will be staying with you for a week or more, then you need to be sure that you provide them with ample storage space.

Although decorating a guest bedroom can be a fun task, it’s important to keep in mind that even though the room is in your house, it’s other people who will be using the space. Thus, it’s always best to keep it on the simple side, adding your stylish touches here and there.
